Land and Sea: The Beauty of Nature
For this project, I was inspired by photographer and environmental activist Ansel Adams. He is known for his black-and-white landscape photographs, specifically those of national parks like Yosemite. He wanted to show the world the beauty and importance of nature and why it was so worth protecting. Through my project, I wanted to capture that same message, instead, however capturing the places dear to my heart. I photographed a few of my factory spots around Bristol,RI, using the same black and white style as Adams. I hope that this collection of photos inspires others to want to protect nature in the same way I do, so it can be enjoyed for years to come.Â
Our Dying Planet
For this collection of photos, I was inspired by photographer Sophie Ristelhuber and her photos representing human destruction. My goal was to take that concept and show how destructive human activity is to our planet. I photographed in black and white to convey the intensity of the issue, allowing the viewers to focus on the subject matter rather than the colors of the image. I hope that this body of work will inspire others to take action to stop the destruction being caused before it is too late.
